Open Positions
What happens when a position is not filled? Other board members may have capacity to step in and help make the work/event happen, or the work/event is skipped until another year when the position is filled.
Our Board is large by design – as volunteers and parents, we understand the need for balance. By breaking up responsibilities into smaller units or by season, we are able to expand our volunteer reach no matter how much time someone might have. Several positions can also be done from home or outside of business hours. Help is always available, and many positions are a team effort, spearheaded by the position holder.
The difference between “Joining the PTO” as a member vs “Joining the PTO Board”:
Joining the PTO as a member can be as simple as paying the family dues. If you’d like to take a more active role, consider joining the Board.
